Mosquito Control

To help keep our neighborhoods comfortable and reduce the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses, the Town of Riegelwood operates a seasonal mosquito control program. Weather permitting, trained crews conduct routine inspections and spray treatments throughout the warmer months, focusing on standing water and other breeding areas. 

 

Mosquito control is performed a minimum of 2 times a month from March-November. Additional spraying may be warranted and performed during peak mosquito season.

Residents can assist by emptying containers that collect water, trimming overgrown vegetation, and reporting areas of concern to the town office. Spraying is scheduled during the evening hours when mosquitoes are most active and beneficial insects are less affected.
